On a sunny December day in 2016, Susan Aguirre, the vivacious soul behind Lil Aztec Flower Shop, opened the doors of her floral haven. Her vision was clear: she wanted to instill an infectious spirit of liveliness in the downtown area, contributing to the wonderful collection of businesses already there.

Susan’s inspiration came from a place of nostalgia and love for the community. She envisioned her shop to evoke the charm of Bailey Park from the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life”, symbolizing the feeling of unity, warmth, and timeless joy. This was her idea of Aztec – a place brimming with life, love, and positivity.

Before Lil Aztec Flower Shop came into existence, Susan and her husband often passed through Aztec on their way to visit their son in Farmington. Each time they passed the now thriving corner of Main & Chaco, her husband would point and say, “That will be your shop.” And so, it came to be.

Now, Lil Aztec Flower Shop stands as a testament to Susan’s vision – a beacon of love, joy, and community spirit. It’s more than a flower shop; it’s a place where happiness blossoms and spreads, touching every visitor’s heart. Susan’s goal was to make her corner a place of awe and delight, and she certainly succeeded.
